The Color Purple

In the midst of all this work that I still need to get done, I needed a break. So, me & the girls took a trip to NYC to check out Fantasia in The Color Purple. The show was awesome! I definitely recommend checking it out! I would actually like to see it again.

Only thing is, Fantasia is ending her run as Celie. I don't know who's taking her place, but Chaka Khan & BeBe Winans are slated to appear as Sophia & Harpo in January. Anyway, before the show we all got a bite at Amy Ruth's Restaurant in Harlem. The food was great. So, if you're ever in NYC for a show, stop by Amy Ruth's for some soul food!

Jari & Kevin - July 7, 2007

Yes, 07/07/07 was a big day for over 60,000 brides (rumor has it). I was fortunate enough to be chosen to photograph Jari & Kevin's special day. The ceremony took place at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Atlanta, with the reception following at The Westin Peachtree Hotel, in the Peachtree Ballroom.

Before the ceremony, I arrived at The Westin to get the "Getting Ready" shots & was floored by the view from the room. Jari & crew were in a 2 floor suite on the 70th floor & the view was overlooking most of downtown.

As it's never easy to pick/post all of my favorites, here are a few of many.

Monique & Rick - July 7, 2007

When Monique & Rick hired me for their 7-7-7 wedding, I had no idea about the numerical significance of the date & it's relation to gambling. But aside from the significance of the date, it's how they met that's so special. Monique & Rick met on eHarmony.com, the match making website. They made contact in August '06 & by September '06, knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together! The ceremony & reception were held at Buckhead's 103 West .
